Do Not Bite The Hand That Feeds You

Just something that CSiR (Clayton State Internet Radio) needs to know.

I'm 1 of the 2 radio personalities (Mr. Wilson is the other) that actually get listeners. Not because I'm using my own equipment, its because we don't sound like over the hill senior citizens playing Phil Collins' Greatest Hits back to back.

Just remember who built this station from the ground up

P.S. Quit telling me I need Church, I don't tell you that you need Satan

Productive Weekend

Despite all the recent happenings, I've managed to enjoy life by sharing a hobby with a good friend of mine.

I'm teaching her how to spin in the hopes that she will be better than most DJs I see at the clubs with horrible gimmicks and even worse dance moves. Its been only 2 days and she's learning quick...By the time April rolls around you never know...she might be spinning at a party near YOU!

It's a DJ crash course in the SoFA KiNGDOM !!!

Intruder Alert

So today my beloved Clayton State University made the news...not because of academics or athletics or even any kind of achievement. It's because we had some crazy mofo running around campus with a gun...so the campus went on lockdown, but the great police forgot to close the side gates...guess what? guy got away

The official email sent to us

"As of 5:30 p.m. this afternoon, the lockdown was lifted.

“After thorough search, we are comfortable that the campus is now safe, and the all clear message has been disseminated. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and apologize for any disruption that this investigation may have caused,” says Bobby Hamil, Clayton State University chief of police.

Both Clayton State Public Safety officers and the Morrow Police Department searched the campus. In addition, the campus’ security cameras were reviewed, and the individual described by the students was observed walking off campus to the west."

WTF

This is Clayton County for you...

Another Movie filled weekend

Now I am no film expert or film buff, but I have taken a few film classes and I love using what I learned in those classes and picking apart films and then discussing them on the drive the home. Its like our own little weekend ritual.

Friday Night/Saturday Morning

Okay after a friend's grad party we were desperate for a movie, but everything was closed at 1 am so our resort was Wal-Mart's $1 rental machine...We picked up 2 flicks, I got "Re-Cycle" and She got "An American Crime."

We didn't even bother watching "Re-Cycle" mainly b/c it was in japanese and subtitled and We didnt want to bother. Basically threw away a dollar here.

But "An American Crime" was good. It wasn't like a masterpiece or anything like that film wise, but it was a very heart felt story, I wanted to punch Denys' laptop screen as we were watching it and I LOVED IT!

It's based on a true story about a trial on this evil bitch who abused a child. It has Ellen Page starring as Sylvia Likens, and you can google/youtube her story and you'll get a good idea of what this film is about. Now if you know me, then you know I love sick sad movies and this is definitely one of them.

NOW on Sunday

After having Lunch at one of our usual Sunday spots we had to catch another flick, we ended up seeing "Cadillac Records"

This movie was really enjoyable, I thought the casting director did a superb job picking the actors and actresses in their roles. Also the whole cast did great portraying their characters...EVEN Beyonce, yes that's right Beyonce did a pretty good job, even though she had her moments where I could see she kinda lost Character and we saw a little Sasha Fierce coming through. But her scene in the restaurant I think was powerful. Mos Def as Chuck Berry and Eamonn Walker as Howlin' Wolf were perfect...also the guy that played Little Walter was also good, we later found out the actor was from "thats so Raven" he's gonna look familiar when you see this movie LOL.

This movie was a little short, I wish they could have made it longer and went a little deeper, but nonetheless this movie was really enjoyable and entertaining. I loved the older people in the theater with us, they were all laughing and giggling as we were watching the movie. It was like they had a piece of their childhood/teenaged years back and they were re-living it. I wish when we get older and we somehow are still doing this little Sunday ritual we'd be like these nostalgic movie goers, except instead of a movie about Cadillac Records, we'll catch a movie about Ruthless Records (inside joke) It's All Good!

Really It is

VoMIT

This is what happened after the pumpkin saw this movie

And the oscar for comedy of the year goes to...

TWILIGHT!

Yes it was that bad. I could of seen this movie at home on Lifetime minus the teenie boppers seated behind us. Viewing this film made me appreciate the movie I saw the previous night, which isn't so bad after watching this POS. There were so many awkward moments in the film and it was obvious. The lines were forced at times and there were many instances where the cast had this WTF look on their faces. This resulted in a very unintentionally funny film.

Here's an example of the movie:

**insert awkward moment here** cue glitters on the skin **insert tired cliche' here**
cue 360 degree swooping crane shot **repeat**

over and over....and over for 2 hours

Four Christmases

So I went to see this movie last night. It wasn't our first choice, but we arrived late and the movie we wanted to view already passed. Well anyways, this movie wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but then again I didn't really expect much from it. It was surprisingly funny (not hilarious), and the main characters had a little more depth to them than what I expected.

Vince Vaughn- Plays the same role he does in every movie. Blehhh

Reese Witherspoon- Was her usual self, plays typical blond with family problems, discovers something about herself and then tries to make changes. Whoopty Doo...I find myself attracted to her though.

Robert Duvall- My favorite character from the movie (Vince Vaughn's father), though it was a secondary character, I found it to be very well done.

Though I usually hate watching Romantic Comedies, let alone Romantic Holiday Comedies, I 've come to the conclusion that I despise these things not because they are typically horribly made, but because I envy the characters in the film. It's not even the fact that these usually end happily, it's that in reality these ideal endings are exactly what they are....IDEAL

"IDEAL" exist but is never attainable. It is the concept of perfection or what is thought to be perfect or flawless. We all have our own vision of what ideal is to us, but no one ever attains it, we will always settle for the next best thing, if not we settle for the next best thing after than and so on...the cycle continues until we find ourselves satisfied with mediocrity.

I will never be satisfied.

2 Dead after shooting in crowded Toys R Us

updated 9:47 p.m. ET, Fri., Nov. 28, 2008

PALM DESERT, Calif. - Two men pulled guns and shot each other to death in a crowded toy store Friday after the women with them erupted into a bloody brawl, witnesses said. Scared shoppers fled but no one else was hurt.

The violence erupted on Black Friday, the traditional post-Thanksgiving start of the holiday shopping surge, but authorities indicated the shooting wasn't related to a shopping frenzy.

No RaDIO

Special thanks to Denys for the photo (it was taken when we ate Korean BBQ)

It's been about a week since I've been driving around without a radio/CD player in my car and has been quite the double edged sword.

The bad, for the obvious reason is that I'm bored out of my mind while driving with no music. So I end up riding around with the windows rolled down in 30 degree weather just hoping to catch a beat or melody or even a siren from vehicles around me.

The positive aspects of this situation is that it's relaxing. You sit there, you drive and your mind just starts wandering off about random things such as life, relationships, school and politics. You drive slower and slower as you get to your destination just because you want an extra few minutes to yourself, in the car, with no music, just you and your thoughts and you let it marinate.

This past week I've discovered that these thoughts are what I yearn for. Whether if it's by myself or if it's shared with whoever is riding with me, I find these moments golden. I have also come to the conclusion that in order for me to be in a relationship with someone these moments must be shared. It's beyond what that other person can do for you, what they do, how much they make, what they look like, what they know about you or how interesting their personality seems. It's how these golden moments are shared that makes a strong bond between two people. NO MATTER WHAT.

ToNIGHT

Okay, So I'm sitting in Public Relation class right now....my phone is blowing up. I want to just turn it off for Thanksgiving break. BUT I KNOW I CANT DO THAT since I desperately need an internship so I need to be easy to get in contact with. Anyways Tonight I'll be at CENCI for an interview with Abstract Logic Recordings for DJing, production and public relations with them. This fits me perfectly but its stuff I already know, but I wouldnt mind honing down my skills and I think its good exposure for my DJ career that I need to revive after a couple of years of laying low.

But Yeah I Guess I'll be back on Beast Mode for now.

WiSH Me Luck

SoFA KiNG OUT!!!!

Superhead

So it has come to my attention that Superhead is giving lectures to college students at Cal State Northridge. I wonder what she could be giving lectures about? Mmmmmmm LOL and what kind of class is she lecturing for? She'd be perfect for Media and Culture.

Notice how she handles that mic =)

closing out the weekend

So winding-down the weekend I believe is the best and worst part of it. I find it to be the best part because I feel its the best time to reflect or atleast try to remember what you did the past 2 days if you can remember it at all. Its the worst because you know you know its Monday the very next day...Yikes! =/. But yeah I winded-down this one similar to last weekend with Denys, except this time instead oh Pho we had Korean BBQ, which is the SH!T by the way. I think we're the only customers they get for Korean BBQ b/c we definitely caught the lady off guard when we said Korean BBQ; she didn't even offer it to us. But yeah its been awhile since we last went to eat there, its been like 2 years. Everything was good till the heat died and the food got cold, I just couldnt eat after that.

I love these Sundays, its relaxing and gets me prepped up for the upcoming week. Too bad theres only 52 of these in year, but kinda glad b/c we'd probably run out of places to eat at.
